It is such a tough challenge to create an interface that will work equally well for the diverse audience that facebook has. It seems from all the chatter regarding the change, they may have been well served to allow people the choice of moving to the new interface or keeping the old one. Before the change I had organized my friends into various groups with different security settings and stuff and now I can just click on a list for just high school people, or people I knew from rochester or people I know in raleigh and then a core group of people I follow.
